Remember you should pre-heat the jar by putting boiling/hot water in for 10-15 min. Pour the water out (and maybe wipe it on the inside) before you put the hot food in. As if you put the hot food straight in to the food jar without doing this, the food will start to cool down a bit when it hits the cold stainless steel inside. But by heating up the inside of the food jar it means your food will stay hot for longer.
